Governor Sisolak signs bills to better protect all Nevadans needing health care…

Governor Sisolak signs bill protecting Nevadans suffering from pre-existing medical conditions…

Governor Steve Sisolak Wednesday signed two bills making it easier and cheaper for Nevadans to get the medical care they need without being charged extra due to technicalities.

Governor Sisolak said “Obamacare’s provisions to cover pre-existing conditions may be under attack in Washington DC, but no matter what, AB 170 will ensure that pre-existing conditions will be covered for Nevada residents with my signature on this document.”

Governor Sisolak signed AB 469, eliminating “surprise” increases in medical costs. Governor Sisolak also signed another break-through piece of medical legislation, AB 469 which guards against Nevadans thinking they are going to be charged a set amount for their medical recovery only to find out that some of their medical treatments were “outside” their medical provider policy. Some Nevadans get slammed with huge increases in medical costs – costs that they were not warned were coming.

Gov. Sisolak also introducing a bill to establish patient protection commission to avoid excessive medical charges.

Governor Sisolak continued by saying that he is helping to support another important medical consumer protection bill so that all Nevadans get a fair and open understanding of what kinds of medical evaluations they need and what likely medical treatments they will receive, and at what costs. That bill was expected to be introduced late Wednesday afternoon.
